Matti Karjalainen's interface for the Virtual Air Guitar, a pair of control sticks with accurate ultrasonic positioning.

VR interface | ![]() |
The VR interface uses magnetic tracking to read the position of gloves on the user's hands, and optical fibres to measure finger bending. The VR room also has projection screens for visualization, which was an opportunity that could not be passed by.

Invisible Drum | ![]() |
The Invisible Drum was based on the Virtual Air Guitar's webcam interface, but instead of gloves, the camera tracks an orange drum stick, which the user can use to strike a physical model of a drum membrane and edit its physical properties in real time.
